As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Useless school. Never experienced a school system quite like this one. Lazy teachers when it comes to children with any kind of learning disadvantage. They NEVER cancel school even when the roads are a nightmare. They used to be amazing. I bought my house just to keep my children in this school district but regret that decision 100. The other parents are more concerned with getting rid of their kids for the day than them actually learning or being in a healthy safe learning environment. They would rather send out apology letters for not canceling school than cancel for the childrens safety. I’m Close Quote

Open Quote Yes, I have something useful to say. Lets see, spelling is not necessary-since we have spell check. (Quote from a Teacher!)

THERE IS NO 16 to 19 STUDENT to TEACHER RATIO, that is a LIE (.) It is 29 to 34-depends if the students are sick. Yes, I am not a "Happy Camper". Middle school has no sports. We also "reconfigured" the elementary schools to save money in the K-6 Plan, and now we "Found" 3 Million Dollars-Whew, who knew the Superintendent of Schools and the Financial Wizards could find that. In addition, according to this site we are now ranked 646-down from 2010 by 59 points.

I just saw the spell checker-for crying out loud. If I can not express myself properly, then I have it worse than my children. I am not sure what to do as of this moment, but I can guarantee you I will be talking to someone. In addition, we have choices to make as parents, educators, and residents of Garden City and the State of Michigan. It can not be acceptable to allow the education to go in a downward spiral as it is and I am disgusted. My recommendation: If you have a choice-do not go to these schools. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
