As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Though many may think that sending your child to a Spanish Immersion school may be beneficial to the mental development and progression of any child, I am here to testify that this is untrue in many cases, including my own. Many reviews here were written by satisfied/unsatisfied parents of students that have gone to Ada Vista. Their perspectives may be valid on the surface, but I actually attended the school and can accurately attest to the true nature of this school from my own experiences. Many students do not tell the whole truth to their parents (for reasons that are explained below), and when they write their reviews, they have a false and romanticized perception of what truly occurs within its wall.

First off, for some students, Ada Vista severely stunts English development since Spanish is pushed so hard in the classroom, and in many cases, students are required not to speak in English while in class. For myself, this only caused me to lack the ability to use English grammar effectively (which is very different from Spanish) and my ability to spell words in English was atrocious since it was barely taught in class. When I transferred from Ada Vista to an English school, The amount of Tutoring in English classes cost my family a small fortune.

Secondly, bullying was absurdly out of hand. Because of the negligence of the teachers themselves and their brutal ways of fixing problems. For instance, I was once locked in a closet after being wrongly accused of something I did not do. They didn’t believe me when I pleaded so they “disposed” of me as best as they could. I also was a massive target for bullying, and since I no longer trusted the teachers to even remotely help me, I didn’t stood there and (on almost a daily basis) absorbed the harassment of several bullies.

My experiences at Ada Vista had many negative effects on my life, and depending on the personality and learning style of your own child, your child may experience short term conditions of fear, antisocial behavior, distrust of school staff, frustration, and/or long term effects of bitterness, trouble trusting others, spelling deficiency, and intensified emotional responses.

This may not apply to all, but I strongly insist you take these things into consideration when deciding where to send your child for their education. This is the most vulnerable time of a child’s life, and their mental/emotional health in the future will be affected by where they go. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
