As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I was a student at the Kennedy for one year. I couldn't stand it for more, so I ended up having to go to a private school. The teachers are thrown into things that they don't want to do, the curriculum is stupid and poorly taught, and the standardized testing is the focus of half the year. The teachers don't care about their kids. I do have to say that I love one of the counselors. She loves what she does and worked really hard to make me happier. I ended up doing 8th grade classes a couple times a week, and even those I had taught myself in 3rd, 4th grade. It's frustrating. I feel bad that I had such a bad experience because I know that some teachers actually try, but there is nothing individualized. It's just a factory where you put a kid in expecting to get the optimized product for minimum wage manufacturing work. It's not an education. It's regurgitation of information that you learn one minute and forget a moment after the test ends. At the Kennedy, there is no theatre program, limited sports, very little musical program, and nothing for advanced students. It seems like the students just generally are *dumber* but it's not the case. I think it's the teaching. I hope that it gets better there. The teachers do nothing about cliques and social outcasts, but they do have a strong program with their counselors. I hope that it gets better. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
