As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I have 3 children in that attend Lake Elementary (I also attended primary school there as a child). One is going to 5th grade and two are going to 2nd grade. My husband and I stay very involved with our children's schooling and so we really haven't had any problems with any staff. There will always be a teacher, office worker, etc. that you don't really connect with- that's at any school; however, the 6 years (pre-k) we've been dealing with Lake Elem. there have been by far way more positive experiences than disappointments. All of the teachers have been cooperative and understanding of any needs my children have had. This year (2014) was the start of the new CORE curriculum and I think the staff at Lake did a great job getting the kids on board and making the huge load down of education as entertaining & fun learning for the kids as possible. The school ranks high in the whole state of Louisiana and we have always been grateful to live in the school zone of Lake Elementary! Close Quote

Open Quote This is by far the worst school I have ever been to. The staff are very unwelcoming, the old saying goes if you aren't in the click then you aren't in and that's how this school is run, from administration to the student body, not to mention the principal won't even return a phone call and teachers are hanging up on parents because we question a test and the answers. Our family relocated here and while looking for housing we were told that this area had the best school in the parish, however we are seeing that isn't so true, state testing doesn't define the school the people do and this school is awful, and we are trying to remove our children from this place asap. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
