Open Quote My son is beginning his 5th year at Capital Day & I can't say enough about what a wonderful school it is. The teachers consistently go above & beyond to teach my son on his level & to provide a thorough, well-rounded education that doesn't just involve memorization of facts. On top of that, CDS provides a close-knit community, between kids, parents, teachers. Its a great place to be! Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter is entering her third year of Capital Day as a kindergarten student within the Montessori program. For the past YEAR, she has been actively reading, counting, and comprehending as a mature child. Don't worry, she still acts as a 5-year old should, but can hold a conversation with the best of them. Open Quote Our grandson has attended CDS since pre-K 3. Our experience there has been amazing. The small classrooms are great, allowing the teachers to give more hands on training. We love seeing the presentations the students do and attending the events they have for families. The education and experience the kids receive helps them grow and prepare them for high school. Open Quote My child has attended Capital Day since PreK3. Over the last six years, the faculty has become like family. We are blessed with caring teachers and staff who take a vested interest in not only our child’s academic performance, but their emotional and physical well being as well. The small class size allows for teachers to meet the child where they are and develop a learning plan that is individualized for that particular child - this one on one focus would be impossible in a public school setting. I am so appreciative of the time and effort that the faculty puts in every single day. They teach not just to learn but to love learning, and to develop a life long urge to continue to learn. Open Quote We cannot stress enough how amazing CDS has been for our son - for the first time he is being challenged in the classroom, his unique personality not only accepted but celebrated, and the community of both students and families is so inviting and warm! We tell everyone we know how in love we are with this school! Close Quote

Open Quote Without a doubt the best investment you can make for your children! This school grows strong independent learners who quickly learn to excel in reading, writing, science and mathematics just to name a few. Public Speaking...oh yes. All of these kids from Pre K - 8th grade truly knock Public Speaking out of the park. Each year and with each class my wife and I look forward to hearing all their presentations. It just amazes us how poised and confident all the students sound during their presentations. My oldest is starting High School in College Spanish, Music and Algebra II as a 9th grader. No other school in this area prepares their students to succeed like Capital Day School! Again by far the best investment for your child. Close Quote

Open Quote I have had two children attend Capital Day School. The amount of time and care that the teachers put in to each student is unparallel. It isn't uncommon for the teachers to have several curriculums going on in the same classroom to meet each student at their level rather than teaching them all as a whole. The school teaches a lot outside of the classroom either in the community or on field trips...so don't be fooled by the age of the building...as it's paid for... which helps keep the tuition affordable! My oldest child attended public and graduate as such. So I can compare apples to apples. My two younger children, students of CDS, outperformed my older child academically in every area. Now I wish my oldest child had also received this education. For any parent that needs or wants something more for their child- check out this school! It has an education you will not be disappointed with. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
