As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I went to Metro Boulevard HS from about 1996-1997. The school was the best thing for me when I was attending high school. At the time, I was able to work at my own pace, which was a great thing when I ended up in the hospital for a month, and I had the ability to not fall behind in my classes. I reflect back and realized I had teachers who enabled learning mechanisms, you would not find that at the regular high schools in Wichita.

After attending NE Magnet for the art program and Southeast (which was a complete and utter disaster for me), this school was the best high school for me. I loved the fact that I didn't have to go to a regular high school where I was in fear for my safety, Metro is and was a school I could go to where I felt safe, if you fought, you got kicked out of school. Metro also has a very low student to teacher ratio that really gives the student the ability to learn.

This type of school was a right fit for me, I still look back over 10+ years and think what a blessing it was for me to have an opportunity to go to attend a school like this. Amazing! Also, I have a bachelors in business now, and I am working on my masters in adult learning, I value education and I am very thankful that there is a school like this as an alternative to the "regular" high schools in Wichita. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
