Open Quote St. Richard's is a jewel! Our two children graduated from SRES. We enjoyed amazing teachers at each grade level. The school provides a great start -- three pre-first grade levels of full day kindergarten -- strong classical education, and engaging middle school program. SRES offers a well-known language program that includes a back-to-back exchange program with France in fifth grade, as well as Latin curriculum to strengthen vocabulary roots during middle school. Our children left SRES well prepared for high school with strong organizational skills, personal confidence, and a love for creative writing. We wouldn't trade our family's time as a part of the SRES community with any other private school experience. Close Quote

Open Quote We have have had our kids at St Richards for over 9 years. The School is known for it's academics and it's values that the children represent. With the new head in place over the last two years the school has great energy and the faculty is outstanding. My son has had some wonderful experiences including 2 weeks in France in fifth grade. He has also been treasurer and now vice president of the student council. Children in this school generally have their choice of High School and often with a scholarship of some sort. We highly recommend it and have to many people. Close Quote

Open Quote Our family just finished 16 great years at St. Richard's as each of our three daughters attended from preK through 8th grade graduation. They couldn't have been happier there, nor could we. Talented, caring teachers welcomed parental involvement. It was fun for us whether I helped deliver pretend vaccinations before our kindergarteners "traveled" to study South America or my husband aided in 4th grade shark dissections. Each of our daughters gained so much from the early and fun instruction in French through songs, games and speaking. As a family, we all learned so much through the French exchange program, a real gem! We still keep in touch with the French families. I love it that they studied a romance language that influenced so many of our English words. It was great that kids could choose to switch to Spanish in middle school or deepen their French to the high school level-- even while they learned Latin and mythology and competed successfully against high schools at the state Latin conventions. Their confidence in public speaking and participation in discussions of whatever they study is so much greater than mine was. And we all made friends for a lifetime among classmates and their parents. Even though we graduated, St. Richard's will always be important to us. Close Quote

Open Quote St. Richard's is a terrific institution that consistently provides its students with great teaching, rich programming, and powerful experiences. The St. Richard's faculty helps children build essential skills and knowledge -- analysis, reading, writing, research across a classic curriculum of history, foreign languages, math, and English -- that prepare them to do their best throughout their academic careers and beyond. The school was founded in an urban neighborhood with the explicit goal of nurturing diversity. Over the years, the school's perspective of diversity has become global. St. Richard's students serve their community, excel in academic competitions, and participate in sports. The religious foundation of St. Richard's welcomes and respects people of all faiths and philosophies. St. Richard's offers so much to young people and their families! Close Quote

Open Quote Strong academics, amazing teachers and wonderful families make this one of the finest educational institutions in Indiana. I recommend a visit when school is in session in order to truly appreciate the heart of this welcoming school. Find out more by visiting its website at: http://www.strichardsschool.org/. I do not hesitate to recommend this school; the graduates are prepared well for an international and quickly changing world and are able to select the high schools of their choice. Close Quote

Open Quote St. Richard's provided an outstanding educational and social experience for both of my children that graduated from there.
The student body is ethnically diverse, the class sizes are small and every effort was made to ensure academic success. St. Richard's graduates are highly recruited by all the local private and public high schools. Nearly all St. Richard's students are accepted into the high school of their choice. All areas of their education were strong from math/science to English and foreign languages. One of my children competed in a statewide Latin contest in the 7th grade and won beating out many high school students. Athletics are provided and encouraged as well. The school uses a "Five Pillar" model of success (Classical Curriculum, Faith, Global Readiness,Leadership,Civic Responsibility) to provide a St. Richard's student/family with an experience that is second to none in Indianapolis. Open Quote We have had three St. Richard's Episcopal School students in our family. Our two oldest are graduates and are doing very well at the high school and university level in very competitive academic environments. Our youngest child still attends SRES. We chose SRES after considering The Orchard School, Park Tudor School and other fine independent school options offered in Indianapolis and we remain pleased and confident with our choice. The school offers a classic education based on faith-based values. St. Richard's Episcopal is open and accepting of all academically-qualified students and the diversity featured at the school is a strength we appreciate. The school features students from many countries whose families have moved to Indianapolis and who chose SRES. The school offers a significant amount of tuition financial aid to students who qualify academically and financially. St. Richard's Episcopal School has met all of our expectations as parents. " Knowledge and values for a lifetime" is not only a tagline but truly what we as parents have seen embodied in our children. Close Quote

Open Quote St. Richard's Episcopal School has been one of the best things about living in Indianapolis for our family. The education provided, the educators who pour their hearts and souls into the school and the families who create the community there have been game-changers in the academic lives of both of our children. There are many opportunities for growth in the classroom as well as in extra curricular activities (sports, clubs, choir). Opportunities to travel to France, participate in academic competitions (We The People, Latin Club, Spelling Bee, Science Fair, etc) and carry out community service activities exist, pushing the students to explore all aspects of learning and growth. We explored several schools before choosing St. Richard's and are so happy we sent our children there. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
