Dixie Bee's success may be attributed to its demographic and resource advantages, including a higher percentage of White students (76.15%) and a lower free/reduced lunch rate (41.74%) compared to surrounding schools. The school also benefits from higher per-student spending ($9,670 in 2021-2022) and a relatively low student-teacher ratio, which likely contribute to its strong academic outcomes. Open Quote This is the best school ever. The teachers here take pride in spending quality time teaching the kids and sharing information on projects which need help. When you walk in those doors, you come across two beautiful staff ladies who welcome you with a big smile which really makes you feel good. It's like having a sunshine after long days of darkness. From there we get to meet the Principal, who should be named as "principal on wheels". She is so energetic and full of life, she greets each and every visitor with her smile and takes pride in her work too. She is always ready to run around the whole school helping teachers and the staff and the visitors. It's amazing to watch her help the cafeteria staff during the lunch hours. Where else, do you get to see a principal who even cleans up the tables to have them ready for the kids to eat lunch. She interacts with the kids and mingles with them which really makes the kids friendly to her. They all look upon her as a best friend. My little girl always talks about her principal and she says that she wants to stay in this school forever. This principal is amazing! Then, comes the teachers who are always ready to spend some extra time if the kids need help. Sometimes they like to stay after school to help the kids with some study issues. Not only one, but you will see the same kind of energy in each and every teacher. They all seem to be giving positive vibes to the kids which encourages them to do bettter and better each day. Each and every assistant teacher in the school does its job efficiently and makes us feel proud of them. I would also like to thank the janitors who help our kids stay in a clean, healthy environment. Another story I remember here is that its being said that when God made mom, he said that he couldn't be there everytime, so mom was his replacement. Well, then I would like to add that when a mom is temporarily unavailable, it is the school teachers and the staff who do a responsible job like a mom. I salute each and every teacher, staff member, every person who is a part of this noble job. I thank all of them from the bottom of my heart and anything I talk about my wonderful school is less, since it is the BEST. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
