Middleton Heights Elementary consistently outperforms the Middleton District and the state of Idaho in academic proficiency across various subjects and grade levels. However, the school has a higher percentage of white students (84.83%) and a lower percentage of free and reduced lunch recipients (29.21%) compared to nearby schools, which tend to have more diverse student populations and higher rates of economic disadvantage.

Despite these demographic differences, Middleton Heights Elementary consistently ranks in the top half of Idaho elementary schools, with a ranking of 99 out of 301 schools in the 2023-2024 school year and a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger. This performance is significantly higher than some nearby schools, such as Washington Elementary School and Sacajawea Elementary School, which are ranked in the bottom 10% of Idaho elementary schools and have a 0-star rating. This suggests that Middleton Heights Elementary has effective educational practices that could be shared with other schools in the Caldwell District and the Middleton District to improve student outcomes across the region.

Open Quote This school does not value inclusion and diversity. Having your child attend this school may effect the child's moral compass in a poor manor. It is clear that the school district shares the same sentiment by the lack of discourse and action they have not taken. The education of a developing mind has never been a place for negligence to burrow itself. Coming to the defense of staff in light of their distasteful attire shows where Middleton Heights Elementary stands on the topic of diversity. Consider moving out of the district, charter school, or private school if you value your child's education and outlook of other cultures. Close Quote

Open Quote It is a steaming cauldron of racist teachers. Patticularly offensive to Mexican students. Close Quote

Open Quote I can't believe that in this day and time we see this kind of racism and political bias. Especially in a elementay school. If a student had attempted to behave in this way, he would have suspended perhaps even expelled
Shame, shame on you. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
