Open Quote As a former student, I can speak from personal experience about this school. As the other review has stated, this school system is more concerned about their football team than anything else in the school. So many excuses are made up for the players who do poorly in classes (I've heard plenty of players brag about it) that it's pathetic. The incompetent teachers outnumber competent teachers by miles. Off the top of my head, I can only name about 10 teachers that I had in all of my four years as teachers who truly cared about their students successes and what they learned. Most of my teachers couldn't teach or didn't teach at all. I had teachers who would tell you what pages to look at and do whatever work they assigned, but classes like math were not taught. They just assumed you could teach yourself. Students ended up teaching other students in the class, but then if we failed our EOCTs or any other tests, the teachers would lecture us about how they work too hard for students who don't care about their grades or their future. Many students have reported teachers, but they go unanswered. Some teachers treated their classes like parties. I'm in my fourth year of college and I can tell you now that Peach County had me nowhere near the level I needed to be in during my first year. I had to take remedial math twice in my first year. I had to get four tutors for four different subjects and still managed to drop from a 3.8 GPA in PCHS to a 1.80 GPA in college. I worked my butt off at PCHS to try and learn my material for homework that was almost never graded, lessons hardly taught unless you had the right teacher, and most of the time, the better teachers belonged to all gifted/AP students. If you weren't gifted, tough luck. If you made it into AP, you had your work cut out for you, but both of my AP teachers helped me in every possible way that they could and if I could thank them for their hard work right now, I would. I am totally angry at this school because as hard as I worked to be prepared for college, I almost flunked out my first year and had to relearn everything they should have taught me in the first place. It's pathetic when your professors literally tell you how sorry they are for you getting such a bad education. On top of their poor education, they have the worst support system if you're a student who gets bullied. Only three people on staff supported me and it had to take a death threat against me for it to reach the principal's attention.

If you are a parent and you are reading this, do not send your children here. It's not worth it! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
