Open Quote Very good school. I noticed that most of the negative comments posted on different sites about Mountain View are posted by trouble makers, people who have a specific grudge about a certain situation, or students who dropped out. Those reviews are not relevant to the quality of education, safety, or overall school quality. Close Quote

Open Quote A am a class of 2015 student at mountain view, and to anyone who is looking to go here, let me inform you of a couple things. The school literally looks like a jail. (all white walls, NO decoration). I have been offered drugs multiple times, and I can name at least 10 people off of the top of my head who have dealt illegal drugs on campus. Instead of preventing this, the teachers were most likely busy handing out detentions for dress code. Don't get me wrong, there needs to be a dress code to some extent. However, when the school turns the AC off at 1:00 for budget cuts, I found myself sweating while simply taking notes in class. No shorts below the knees, all shirts must cover your armpits, and you cant wear the numbers 88 or 86. If you violate any of these, you have an automatic detention. Anyways, in my opinion, all classes are basic, all rules are unconventional, and all the students are completely bored at the school. (did I mention how bad the sports teams are?) Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
