Open Quote I went here for 1 year when I was in middle school. Awful administration and awful curriculum. Worst middle school to go to if one is performing at an above-average level. Lack of accelerated classes. Hallways smell like chlorine all of the time. Close Quote

Open Quote The girls are very cruel with new students. They bulling other girls just because they are pretty. The school need educate students and parents to understand the diversity of population and understand the consecuences of bulling. (legal, emotional and sometimes students are depress and thinking in suicide. They need to put a zero-tolerance to bulling and no close the eyes to this community problem that start in HOME. Open Quote I was nervous before my eldest son entered J.C. Booth, but now, near the end of his third year there, I could not be more pleased. Mr. Lombard, Mr. Plauche, and Mrs. Couch all truly care about the students and often verbalize this to the students themselves. The teachers love to teach the students, and the 6th grade math teacher even told me she looked forward to every day so she could learn something from the kids. We had one issue with bullying at the beginning of 6th grade, and when we appealed to the faculty for help it was swiftly and deftly handled so all kids would be protected. It is no secret that the Booth Science Olympiad team does consistently well at Nationals every year, and this year my son earned a spot to compete in the Georgia Geographic Bee. The enrichment program is wonderful, the athletic program is great, and the music programs are diverse. My son has been in the band for three years and says that leaving Mr. Burton is the hardest thing about matriculating to high school. I recognize that there are poor choices that kids can make anywhere, but at Booth it was not a given that these choices would be all my child was offered, in fact, in 8th grade he joined the Vice-Principal's club, and was selected to raise the flags everyday. I love this school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
