Moore Elementary on test scores, with higher percentages of students proficient or better in ELA, Math, and Science. These schools also have lower free/reduced lunch rates and higher spending per student. The declining performance of R. M. Moore Elementary, with its statewide ranking dropping from 282 out of 1,209 Georgia elementary schools in 2017-2018 to 630 out of 1,248 in 2023-2024, suggests that the school may need to re-evaluate its strategies and resource allocation to improve student achievement.

Open Quote I am a grandparent which my granddaughter lives with me. The first year the school was great but now the second year it is not. The school allows bullying. My granddaughter was bullied 2 times this school year and the teachers as well the principal didn't do anything about it. When my granddaughter was punched in the side and left a mark she went to the teacher and all she did was ignore her. What kind of school allow bullying!!!! If you are trying to decide if this is the right school for your child I would keep looking. A school that allows bullying I would not put the child in this school. Close Quote

Open Quote In my opinion, front desk and some of the staff when you walk through the school are not friendly or welcoming to black people. Rude, disrespectful and even displayed aggressive face to me. Close Quote

Open Quote My son is about to complete first grade at R. M. Moore - so far, in the 2 years he has attended school there, I have been very impressed with the quality of his teachers. My son is thriving here and I am a parent with high expectations. I appreciate the level of communication with his teachers and have found that they truly care about the children and have a passion for what they do. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
