Open Quote We have two children at Midway currently, and they absolutely look forward to going to school every day here!! They come home with smiles on their faces and in a good mood. The atmosphere is just like it says when you walk in the front entrance - "Where Excellence takes Center Stage!"

We have special needs children that are both in the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) programs with IEP's (Individual Education Plans) and they fit right in the mainstream classes!! One of them is now a 5h grader, and the other is in his 2nd year of Pre-K. This is our 2nd year at Midway and we continue to be impressed with all aspects of their education. We have been awarded McKay scholarships and have been unable to utilize them locally. But here at Midway - The Teachers, Therapists and Administration are all very knowledgeable and experienced. They have worked very closely with us to develop fair goals and interventions on their academic education programs and tailored them to meet my children's' needs/goals. We feel like we really matter to them, and I am able to go to work and feel comfortable knowing that my children are going to have a great day and be taken care of the way they should be, I never have to worry.

Performing arts also has played a large role in their growth and development. My children love their Art, Band (flute), Orchestra (Violin &Cello) and Dance classes. The performances are very enjoyable to attend.

Seminole County has excellent schools, this one truly stands out for me and has made a HUGE difference to our family - Thanks!! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
