Royal Palm Beach Elementary School

Summary:

Royal Palm Beach Elementary School is a public elementary school serving 662 students in grades K-5 in the Palm Beach School District in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. The school has consistently maintained a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger, ranking it among the top 30% of elementary schools in the state.

Royal Palm Beach Elementary stands out for its strong academic performance, with students consistently outperforming the district and state averages in standardized test scores across all grade levels and subjects. For example, in the 2023-2024 school year, 68% of 5th graders were proficient or better in Science, compared to 53% for the district and state. The school also boasts a more racially diverse student population than many of the surrounding schools, such as Binks Forest Elementary and Elbridge Gale Elementary. While the school has seen an increase in chronic absenteeism in recent years, it still performs better than some nearby schools like Renaissance Charter School At Cypress and Loxahatchee Groves Elementary.

The school's consistent academic excellence, outperformance of nearby schools, and higher spending per student compared to the district and surrounding schools suggest that Royal Palm Beach Elementary is effectively meeting the needs of its diverse student body. While the increasing trend in chronic absenteeism is a potential area of concern, the school's overall success can serve as a model for other schools in the Palm Beach School District and the state of Florida.

Open Quote Excellent school. Their motto is that its the happiest place on earth and apart from Disney, it really is. Everyone from the Principal, Vice Principal, teachers, staff..just everyone are amazing, care for the kids and create a great learning environment. It's been given an A Grade and deservedly so. I can't say enough good things about this school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
