Open Quote The ESE/special needs program is absolutely awful here. Renee is the ESE coordinator and she's too soft for the job. When the teachers are out of line she doesn't do anything about it, nor does the principal. The principal and the teachers do NOT embrace inclusion...which is federally mandated. One of the ESE pre-k teachers has had numerous parent complaints because she's downright mean to the special needs kids and no one in the district or at the school cares.

The office staff is absolutely awful. The receptionist is rude and doesn't even look at you to greet you. The nurse swore in her office with kids sitting 3 feet away in the lobby. The car line is such a joke it's downright sad. It is absolutely the worst elementary school in Boca - no organization, no leadership, and some of the teachers are really not in the right line of work. Close Quote

Open Quote We are a new family to this school and so far have had nothing but a bad experience. We moved here and heard that the schools here were so wonderful so we took them out of private school to give it a try. So far I have never witnessed such negativity and rude behavior from some of the faculty and especially from the parents as I have seen here. There are constant fights between parents in the parking lot, they will cut you off in the car line and then scream obscenities at you from the window - while their children are still in the car!! I witnessed a member of their "PTA" having a conversation with another parent using profanity and vulgar language around children and then saw her yell at another parent in the parking lot as well! What a lovely representation that she is giving of their PTA board! They strictly enforce the rule that you cannot walk your child to class but they should offer more assistance with the staff or safety patrols helping the students out. My daughter got lost several times since she is not familiar with the school and by the time that she found her class she was late and got in trouble. There is a big lack of communication with anything and then when you ask questions or try to get involved you get an attitude and feel like you are inconveniencing them. We are taking our children out next month and going back to private... Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
