Inlet Grove Community High School

Summary:

Inlet Grove Community High School is a public charter high school serving grades 9-12 in Riviera Beach, Florida, with a diverse student population that is predominantly African American (73.77%) and Hispanic (19.38%).

Inlet Grove Community High School stands out as a relatively high-performing institution within its local context, with consistently high four-year graduation rates reaching 99.5% in 2022-2023, significantly higher than the Palm Beach district and Florida state averages. The school has also outperformed the district and state in several key test areas, including 94% proficiency in EOC/US History and 68% proficiency in FAST/English Language Arts for 10th grade in 2023-2024. However, when compared to nearby top-performing schools like Alexander W Dreyfoos Junior School Of The Arts and Suncoast Community High School, Inlet Grove still has room for improvement to reach the same level of excellence.

While Inlet Grove Community High School has seen an increase in chronic absenteeism, reaching 20.2% in 2022-2023, this rate is still lower than some of the nearby schools, such as Worthington High School (90.2%) and Florida Futures Academy (74.4%). Open Quote Don’t send your child here. They will have your child in school all day knowing they have more credits than needed to graduate but to keep up they funding they make them stay. The principal is a nut job and harass students unnecessarily. I pulled my child out middle of his senior year and realized how much she was holding him back being that he is a straight A student she constantly harassed him and threatened him. Constantly tried to suspend him stupid things all
Other kids were doing like selling candy. I’ve had nothing but issues with this school. My son now has one class and working two jobs before he grad and off to military. He is still a straight A student and have no issues with this new school at all. It really make me wonder. The school is real ghetto. Save yourselves the trouble and find a better charter school Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
