Palm Springs Elementary School

I went here during Bush jr's first year of Presidency. I know because one of my most vivid memories of my childhood was looking up in the sky and just seeing "BUSH" on the banner a plane was dragging behind, signifying his "winning" the election. Sadly, I can say that this was my fondest moment within those school boundaries. I'd gone to three different elementary schools and this was by far the most atrocious, pathetic, sad excuse for a school I have ever come to know in my life.

Some of my worst memories are here. This isn't just some kid with a grudge against the system. I'm 22 years old now and am now entering my Bachelor's program. I just happened to remember this place and scoured the internet to check it out and see how it's been doing and it doesn't look good. This place was awful. Back in those years, any reason to "celebrate" and not teach the students was welcomed with unnecessarily long, extended periods of time. I remember celebrating May Day and the games and shenanigans lasted more than a full week. I remember, any time we had a substitute teacher come in, the children would misbehave worse than I could imagine now. Kids would be jumping desks, screaming, throwing chairs and breaking things. Paper would fly and not a single thing would be taught that day. This was something normal for that school. The only time that a sub had a class of quiet children was the day the twin towers fell. I was in third grade and everyone was in shock. It's weird; you don't think third graders could really comprehend something like that, but we all took it in and it shook us to our core. But I'm getting off track.

Basically, this school was the worst thing to ever facilitate education. I recall partying for a week because our school, for the first time in years, or ever, had jumped from an F school to a D school. I shudder to think I spent 3 years at this place.
