Estates Elementary School

Summary:

Estates Elementary School is a public elementary school located in Naples, Florida, serving grades PK-5 with a student population of 862. The school is part of the Collier County School District, which is ranked 14th out of 68 districts in Florida and has a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Estates Elementary School has a diverse student population, with a higher percentage of Hispanic students (62.41%) compared to the state and district averages. The school also has a significant percentage of White (20.77%) and African American (11.83%) students. However, Estates Elementary School has experienced a significant increase in chronic absenteeism, rising from 7.7% in 2019-2020 to 22.7% in 2022-2023, which is higher than the district and state averages. Academically, the school generally performs better than the state average in English Language Arts and Math, with a higher percentage of students proficient or better, but slightly lower than the Collier County School District average in these subjects.

Compared to nearby schools, such as RCMA Immokalee Community School, Highlands Elementary School, and Village Oaks Elementary School, Estates Elementary School performs better in terms of test scores and school rankings. However, it lags behind other nearby schools, like Corkscrew Elementary School, which consistently ranks higher in the state. The higher spending per student at Estates Elementary School compared to the state average suggests that the school and district are investing resources to support student learning, but the high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch indicates that the school may need to allocate additional resources to address the needs of its economically disadvantaged population.

Open Quote Treat the kids like prison inmates, unfriendly and unwelcoming to parents. Miserable staff. Basically like a East Side Chicago school but in Florida! Bus Drivers keep kids with no AC melting on the long ride home. I would not put my dog in this cesspool. They like to send threatening letters when your kid has the flu too! GFY Estates! About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
