As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Honestly this school does not deserve one star. As I read the previous reviews it looks like at one point in time Shue Medill was a school. This instituted is horrific. Never in my life have I witness something like this. Growing up I remb there being a few bad kids in school. However it seems like being respectful and wanting to learn is unknown at SHUE. The school is mainly full of out of control kids who seem to only know how to use 4 letter words. There is no line of respect for the staff. Which Im sure makes going to work everyday there extremely hard and not enjoyable. The few kids that are there to learn and behave are looked over because the teachers are spending the entire time trying to get control of the class. My daughter who is a student there comes home telling me that they cant even get past the warm up in class, and the teachers are almost in tears every day. There are fights there every day.. and bullying so bad that my kids are afraid every day. Random kids will walk into class rooms and scream out profanity... or walk into the lunch room when its not even there lunch period and take food off of students trays. The school at one point ran out of milk for the students and denied my daughter to get a substituted beverage because she did not have money to pay for it, juice cost more then milk. The French teacher has told my children that his class does not matter, however on the other hand condemns the children when they get a bad grade on there test and announces in front of the entire class the test score of those who did not receive a passing grade, in efforts to embarrass the child. There have been several incidents where I have had to contact not only the principal but also the superintendent. The principal is seems like she is obviously to what is going on at her school and the superintendent completely ignores your emails. From what I have gathered I am not the only concerned parent who has contacted the superintendent (Freeman L. Williams) in which he has failed to return and form of contact. It is mind boggling to think that these adults are put in these higher positions to do an important job and have show such carelessness... On top of the sad situation with the Shue Medill middle school the transportation is just as horrific. The School bus that my daughters ride is never consistent, and was also involved in a bus accident. They have waited out in the cold for over 40 mins waiting for the bus. And have been late to school. Also transportation home from school is never consistent. I have received several calls from my child who was so pose to be home by 310-315 it is now 330 and she is standing outside of the school and the bus is still not there. The school does not notify the parents if buses are running late. After several calls the Transportation office for Christina School district I have gotten no where , they would take my message and forward and have someone contact me in regards to my concerns. At no surprise no one called me back. It hurts my heart to send my children to this school.. What ever happened to school being a safe haven where children go to get a education? Shue Medill Middle School and the Christian school district should be ashamed. I am currently looking into other options which at this point home schooling seems to be the only option I have, and pray that we get accepted in one the school choices for this up coming school year. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
