Open Quote We moved to CT in 2009 and started our son in a local public school with a high ranking. The ranking of that school, Samuel Staples Elementary school was three at the time. However, they constantly cut programs and teachers and had little in the way of technology. My son was bullied on the bus and then when he was almost stabbed on the school bus with a hunting knife and the principal did absoluTley nothing to protect him, we looked at private schools. Fairfield Country Day came highly recommended. The best decision we ever made. My son just scored a perfect score on a section of the word masters challenge, he has advanced math tutoring which staples could not offer and he is physically more active as they have a sports program and recess that aides in the boys development and overal health.

FCDS clearly deserves 5 stars. Other parents from Easton whos sons attend told us the math and rigor of the school was above their 7 th grade daughters middle school curriculum. They were in forth grade she was in 7th! Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
