As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school has one of the most dedicated staffs and principal that I have ever seen.
The staff and students are so vested in each other that I would recommend you check it out before bypassing it for any other school if you child is interested in the Arts. Close Quote

Open Quote Love the studio school! My sons teacher Mr Keeton has changed the course of his academic career by encouraging his growth and his desire to learn. Their full time social worker Mr. Nick has been a fantastic resource and has taught my son some pretty awesome coping skills. Mrs Keeton and Mr Nick are both so awesome with the kids and I can tell that this school is a great place for kids to go when they are struggling. I am ever grateful for this school and these faculty members. Close Quote

Open Quote The Studio School is an amazing school. My son attended from K-5, and my daughter is an incoming kindergartner. The teachers are incredible people - they are supportive, think outside the box, and genuinely care about their students. As a magnet school, I've chosen to have my children attend her because of the diverse education that The Studio School provides! Close Quote

Open Quote Amazing 'hidden' gem. Son has thrived academically. The focus on art, music, and theater has provided him an opportunity to participate and perform and generated skills in presenting and communicating. The other day he had his first really bad nightnmare with a scary monster. He was afraid to go to sleep--wanted to stay awake all night. I suggested that all he needed was a 'hero' that could vanquish the monster. So he did, drawing one up and assigning super powers. Coming into the school, he would always be 'that kid' running around on the edges of the group (be it gymnastics, soccer, etc). not paying attention, etc. At the studio school, the draw of wanting to participate + the patience and organization and passion of the staff required to pull off a play of first graders caused huge developmental jumps for him. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
