As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Mount Carbon is a Wonderul school for all grade levels. Although smaller that most in the surrounding area...that is actually a good thing. Starting at the "roots" the Kindergarten teachers are so EXCEPTIONAL. They teach kindness and tolerance along with friendship and guidance. They are totally invested in each students learning. Mr. Arnold and Mrs. Stevens strive to make each "little learner's" learning experience fun and productive but still challenging and pushing them to the next level.

The principle is an energetic, friendly part of the school day who is available to parents if needed through her "Principal Chat" events. Mt. Carbon had a very active PTA that plans fun activities that are enjoyed by parents and kids of all grade levels. The Watch Dog program is in place and they have a volunteer father/grandfather/uncle daily to assist the adminstrators in keeping the grounds safe for the kids. They celebrate the kids chior accomplishments and have a wonderful turn out for the science fair.

They invite optional after shchool Programs to visit. "J.C. Jackman" and local Tae-Kwon Do studios have delivered fun interactive after school activities and experiences throughout the school year to all kids who would like to participate. The School spirit, pride and Children's safety is obvous when you walk through the door. I feel lucky to have this wonderful school as our home school. GO MINERS! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
