Traut Core's relatively diverse student population, with 65.94% White, 11.35% Hispanic, and 15.34% Asian students, is noteworthy compared to some of the surrounding schools. However, the school's low percentage of free and reduced-price lunch recipients (12.15%) suggests it serves a more affluent population, which may be a factor in its academic success.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Learning is a non-linear and messy process that takes different forms depending on the individual and his/her diverse learning styles. Traut Core Knowledge curriculum is under the impression that knowledge is static and taught in a linear and orderly way by teachers who "deliver" it to students who receives it quietly and unquestionably. Well, as expected, this type of curriculum only produces students who repeat and memorize rather than think. You cannot think outside the box while sitting in it all day long. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is truly a breath of fresh air, compared to most elementary schools in Fort Collins. My child switched to this school in the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year. I am truly amazed at the difference in teachers, and most importantly Core Knowledge instead of the Common Core junk taught at nearby elementary schools. The principal knows what he is doing and is excellent about communicating to all parents weekly. I'm so happy we made the transition. This school is a perfect fit for my child. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
