Open Quote This is the best school on the face of the Earth. The teachers actually care about the student and reach out to help students who have been struggling. Don't let the ranking fool you, I've never been to such an inclusive and it has such a tightly knit family feel. Close Quote

Open Quote I go to Daniel C. Oakes and from a students perspective it is the best school because we accept anyone, there isn't all that regular high school clique BS, we have total respect for the teachers and principal, and it is a school of choice(meaning we choose to be there). And how many kids at regular high schools can say they absolutely love everything and everyone in there school. Plus We maintain a community spirit. We are also the only school in our county that doesn't have a S.R.O.(school resource officer) or security staff or cameras, and no one gets in fights, and we always make sure our school is clean without being told to. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
