I am a teacher at CCA-Denver. I've been privileged to serve both the middle school and elementary students as a 1st grade teacher, 5th grade teacher and middle school dance instructor since 2010. No school is perfect but over the years I've learned through personal experience that those who teach at CCA are there because they truly love children and want to make a positive impact in their lives.

This school is geared towards those who learn in a traditional environment. The schedule is intense and curriculum rigorous. To those who need a more flexible environment such as Montessori, this school may not be the right fit. However, if your child thrives on routine and high expectations, come and take a tour for yourself.

I am proud to say that the teachers receive weekly training on meeting a variety of student needs through the use of data to differentiate learning. Our teachers work as a grade level team as well as vertical teams to help children to successfully learn and transition from each grade.

I'm not sure what the prior poster was referring to, but I love this school! There were some changes in the school leaders late last school year (seems to be right before that post), so maybe that person was at the other end of some tough decisions -

Anyway, the school is lead by former teachers who wanted to do more - which says a lot about their focus and experience in leading the school. I have two children who attend, one in middle school and one in elementary, and I have to say that they go to school excited about the day and come home happy (even with homework most days)! Each class starts the day with 90 minutes of reading (even kinders) with the philosophy that if you have a solid reading background that will support the other learning (you can't do the math unless you understand what is being asked, right?) and they still have specials like art, music, gym and spanish!

As many charter schools have rough starts, it seems that the past is behind them and the school is moving in the right direction to the future! I would *highly* recommend this school if you want the best education for your child! Close Quote

This is a substandard school with nothing to offer to your child, to you as a parent, or to anyone thinking about working here. From the poor mannered front desk receptionist and enrollment coordinator to the foul mouthed teacher's supervisor, this place only serves up negative energy. Most of the staff can hardly manage a simple smile, they don't like each other and they look to their unprofessional social worker to tell them what to do. Her advice is always "staff them into Special Education. We don't have enough kids staffed into special education!" There are a few exceptions, but the rule at this place is "give us your money or we'll find it elsewhere from the government by labeling your child. The government pays us more for each kid we staff into special ed."

You would be doing yourself and your kids a real injustice by sending them here. Sorry if you like the school, but the rating of only 1 star on this website says it all. Close Quote
