As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Awesome families, neighborhood and kiddos. TERRIBLE Special Education experience. The Principal wasn't a good administrator or knowledgable about SpEd, and the SpEd teacher, psych, and social worker were under experienced, retaliatory and too prideful to work with outside professionals who know SpEd children. There was a refusal to collaborate and in the special needs world, this hurts our kids when schools aren't collaborative or knowledgable. My kiddo was hurt. The good news is the Principal has been moved this upcoming year so hopefully some areas can improve, but the SpEd teacher and some others need strong training. If you have a kiddo in Special Education I would be wary of this neighborhood school. Close Quote

Open Quote I have had a very so-so experience with Fox Hollow. We moved to the area four years ago and picked the neighborhood because of Fox Hollow. We loved it the first year we were there. Now, the school is overcrowded. The parking lot is a zoo. I have to fight tooth and nail to get my son a little extra help in reading. He is obviously struggling, and his teacher agrees, but the school insists that there are more needy kids in the school now. The Catholic church up the street is building a school and I plan on sending my son and my younger two kids there as if I can get them in. Close Quote

Open Quote Used to be a great school. Has gone steadily downhill since the new principal started 3 years ago. We have been at the school for 8 years now and its very sad. The school is deaf designated school for district, plus the children from Village East are allowed to attend as well even though Fox Hollow is operating at full capacity. These additional students use resources that the neighborhood kids now have a problem receiving, like extra help for reading or math. Two years ago the principal elected to cut the G&T program to half time, so the kids that need work on the high end of the learning spectrum are not being taken care of adequately. This year there is no librarian. Plus the school is overcrowded, there are over 800 kids at the school. When we started 8 years ago, there was a wonderfully diverse group of teachers, men & women, young and older teachers. Now the staff consists of mainly middle aged white women. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
