As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote After attending Murphy Creek K-8 for 2 years, my son really does love this school. He will be heading into 2nd grade, and my daughter will be heading into kindergarten in the fall. We have found that the teachers are wonderful, stimulating, and accommodating to the kids. Our experience with the staff has been very positive. This facility is organized, pro-active, clean, and safe. My son is challenged in class and has made many lasting friendships (both with students and staff). Keep up the good work! Close Quote

Open Quote My Kindergartener is reading above grade level and excelling in math. She loves her teacher, nurse, and friends. I am a parent volunteer and I see the engaged kids paying attention, listening and I know where they are in their learning. The kindergarten curriculum in MC is far ahead of what some cherry creek schools are teaching at this point (according to first hand knowledge from parents at CC schools) I visit the school weekly as well as daily for drop off and pick up. I have never witnessed any fighting or kids being bullied and there are always multiple staff members and aids present on school grounds and in halls and class. The classrooms are open, orderly, and the hallways are quiet. The kids smile and are respectful and even hold doors for younger kids and adults. I am a witness, and these previous comments are NOT accurate. Close Quote

Open Quote Murphy Creek is a horrendous example of safety as well as academics. My child has had subs all 3 years of attendance in the main class rooms. As well as having them in most specials classes. The principal is lackadaisical about resolving issues students and parents bring to her attention when all else has failed. Your child will at some point face safety issues, bullying is a daily habit. Parents are fighting each other on school grounds physically and verbally and being bullied due to the principal and staff not being equip to resolve student conflicts. So parents are taking them into their own hands. My children have been lost, jumped, harassed, allowed to check out books with pornographic material from the library, retaliated against, and overall taken a nose dive in academics as well as self esteem. By the way.... the security cameras that are in place to protect and be the eyes of truth for our students are so poor that the activities caught on them cannot even be made out to speak justice. Therefore our children, and parents are not safe because there is no evidence.

Like a Quarterback outrunning the tackles in a game...... RUN FROM THIS SCHOOL. Close Quote

Open Quote This school needs a major overhaul. Students do not respect the teachers and/or staff. The curriculum is complicated and does not set any foundation for kids to build from. They teach geometry and abstract personal narratives before they teach addition/subtraction and sentence structure. It's a "let's put the cart before the horse" type of thing and the kids are definitely paying the consequence of it. The poor teachers are stuck with more students than they even have desks for. They spend their budget on extra luxury items like golf carts and trash cans rather than a real genuine education.
I refuse to send my kids back to this school, this school is nothing but a disaster waiting to happen with the lack of leadership and supervision. Hopefully your kid will actually make it out of the school and back to you safely as there is no regard to safety and/or precautions for drop-off and pick-up. My child got lost twice this year, within 2 weeks and teacher had no clue where she was!!! The class next door had kids sneak out and the teacher wasn't aware. I don't understand how teachers do not know where their students are at all times. No checks and balances, no accountability. Close Quote

Open Quote They are a very unorganized school. They lost my kindergartner 3 times this year (putting her on the wrong bus!).I can honestly say that my daughter walked away this last year from K learning next to nothing!!! It was like a waste of a school year!! Then my 3rd grader, they did not even get but one month of science (they said due to funding??) and even that it was only about water. All they do ALL day is write and read. Its like all they want to do is pass their state tests, but do not care to give students a well rounded education! We will NOT be going back to this school next year! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
