As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I work at this school, so I’m obviously biased. I do love the staff, and know the teachers care deeply about their students. Are we perfect, no, no school is. We are a great school though, and I would send my child there. Close Quote

Open Quote Truly an amazing school with down right dedicated staff who are willing to do whatever they can for the good of their students and the entire community as a whole.

Having had 1 son graduate from there and another happily attending for the past 3 years along with dozens of his closest friends- we are not surprised at how efficiently they are handling this pandemic!

We do wish we were rich so that we could really bless ALL the staff there- they surely deserve it ask just about any kiddo who attends there. Close Quote

Open Quote My three children attend The da Vinci Academy. They all love the Arts Integration focus. They come home talking about the singing they did in math, the dancing they did in social studies, and the artwork in science. My kids love their friends and think the world of their teachers. As a parent, I think they have great communication from the administration and teachers. Even with all the COVID changes this past year, I feel informed and able to help my children nagivate the new policies. Close Quote

Open Quote As a teacher at The da Vinci Academy I can guarantee you the Arts Integration focus is alive and well. In fact, it is a renewed focus of the school. TdVA is the only District 20 elementary school to have an Arts Integration Focus. This allows teachers to connect the core subject standards and art standards to ensure learning is engaging. Both of my children have attended this school and I would recommend it to any parents with creative and innovative children. Close Quote

Open Quote da Vinci once offered a fresh approach to 21st century education. Sadly, the district has abandoned the original mission focus of arts integration and has instead turned to mandated standardized curriculum and standardized test preparation. The environment is no longer the nurturing, collaborative one it once was. Critical thinking skills, creativity, and cognitive development have been left behind in search of higher standardized test scores. The district continues to mislead the public about da Vinci, so be careful. signed - a five year veteran Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
