As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I LOVE this school. We are moving out of state and I wanted to give a review of my experiences here over the past 5 years.

We transferred to Rheem from Camino Pablo, another Moraga school. The two are like night and day.

Rheem has an EXCEPTIONAL principal. She is completely engaged, knows every child, their siblings, their parents, their cars, their pets, their details. She's fantastic, and it all flows from there.

The teachers are kind and do the best they can within the confines of the american educational system. There is ZERO bullying at this school, which speaks volumes. Everyone is kind to everyone. Even spoiled, bratty kids are simply not allowed to be jerks. It's great.

It is a very small school, at the end of a cul-de-sac, in a beautiful valley. It feels safe and warm and you can feel good about leaving your kids there.

We are excited to move, but we realize no school is going to be as wonderful for my son as Rheem has been. We will miss this place! Close Quote

Open Quote Our son is pretty capable. He was in 1st grade before transfer to Rheem. I called to the office before I moved, they said they could place my son in either 1st grade or Kindergarten according to our preference. But, the principle disregards parents opinion, teachers´ assessment, comments from previous school, she simply put him in K based on the age. The teachers are unable to give separate material to gifted kids. They are learning nothing from the school and get bored. The principle is pretty rude comparing with other schools we went. Talked with several parents in the school, they are not happy with the principle and some of the teachers neither.
we didn´t do a thorough investigation before we came, too late to move out or transfer to a private.
Recommend the new parents to talk with the school parents, don´t just look at the test score or API to decide where to put your kids. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
