As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote The principal at this school used to be great when he first started three years ago but he has gone majorly down hill since then. He favors students and threatened to suspend a student for playing around in the hallway. If I could afford to move my student to another school I would. He only cares about test scores and makes students cry if they don't get the test scores he wants. It's absolutely horrible and makes me very sad that my child has to continue the rest of the year at this school. If you can help, do not come to this school. He will use a fake attitude with you when he meets you but prepared for a quick chance when your child messes up either behavior wise or educationally. Close Quote

Open Quote I give this school an F. My son is in Second Grade and has completed Kindergarten and 1st grade at Curry. The teachers are NOT involded. The principal he just transferred to another school couldn't even reply to my very concerned emails about my sons academic problems throughout the year. He was struggling and they promised to put him through an intervention. I have yet to see results and there is no communication between the teacher and principal, and from the principal to me. I feel like my son is been cheated. Its a shame really. I have spoked to other moms as well and I am not the only one pulling my kid out of that school for the coming 2012-2013 school year. I would advise any parents researching schools to stay AWAY from this school.

PS. Office staff is also highly unpleasent. The atmosphere of the whole school is aweful.

Sincerely,
Extremely Disappointed Mom. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
