As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote MacArthur is an awesome school! My husband works 30-45 minutes away and it really makes sense to move to Scottsdale, but there are too many reasons to stay. The teachers have hearts of gold. I get the sense that they are excited about what they are doing and that there is passion and purpose put into their work. I couldn't do it! Each year, I have felt worried that I would be disappointed because of how great the teachers were the year prior, how could we be so lucky again? Well, we have been and undoubtedly will be next year. The families of MacArthur are not perfect and aren't cut from a mold but they love their kids and there is so much involvement and such a sense of community in this area. It is contagious and makes me want to be better. I LOVE living here, I love this school and never want to move. Close Quote

Open Quote MacArthur is a great place to send my kids every day. The teachers are talented and committed, each bringing their unique skills to help our kids. They regularly find ways to encourage my kids with their strengths and build on areas where they are weak. MacArthur also has a great relationship with the community. The staff and PTO sponsor a talent show, math night, Reading Under the Stars, a turkey trot, writing contests, a Halloween parade, etc. I love the way these events bring our neighborhood together. Open Quote Macarthur has been such a great school for our children. Fantastic teachers who go above and beyond, dedicated staff, super fun PE teacher, and great music and art teachers. G/T has been awesome, best teacher ever! And the PTO is amazing...we have so much support from the parents in our neighborhood. Lots of parent volunteers on campus and at school events. Close Quote

Open Quote We LOVE MacArthur! All 4 of my kids have attended MacArthur, 2 are still there. They have all done very well there. If there were any issues, they were handled professionally and fairly. The teachers are amazing and really care about the kids. My oldest 2 were sad to leave but were well prepared for junior high and continue to do well. I think ALL the teachers are wonderful including P.E., music, art, band, orchestra, media center, computers, etc. They all work together fantastically to make it a great learning environment! Open Quote MacArthur is a great place to be. My kids have been students there for several years, and we have had a wonderful experience there. In my opinion, the school has a good balance of academic rigor, fun activities from the PTO, and the fine arts (supplemented by the PTO as well). The teachers we have had have genuinely been concerned about my kids and how to help them. I feel like I have a partner in working with my kids -- the teachers are accessible and generous with time and advice. Actually, the principal, too -- I have talked to her about my kids too! I love the other families here. MacArthur has terrific parent support and a great community feeling. We love the "specials:" library, computer lab, music, music masterpiece, art, art masterpiece, PE. We feel like our kids get so much out of this school. We are very happy here. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
