As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school offers a private school level education for a public school price. Our son has attended from K-5, currently enrolled in the 6th. We could not be happier with the education, teachers, principle and admin staff. Everyone works so hard for the children. Kids are first at this school. It starts with the principle, Ms Sniff, who is very visible and available. The teachers are exceptional and very qualified. This school is not fly by night or some average public school. Your kid (s) will get lots of homework and attention. Be prepared to work too parents and grand parents. This school is for real. I highly recommend this school. Close Quote

Open Quote Excellent school! However, if you're a parent who is not involved with your child's education, this school is not for you, and you are setting your child up for failure. This school highly promotes parents/student collaboration with projects and homework. At times it feels like you are also being graded as a parent. If your child is failing in this school, it's only because you are failing your child as a parent.

Some of the areas where this school excels is in Mathematics, Reading and giving your child the confidence to speak in front of a classroom by reading and reciting poems by memory.

This school is getting better and better with age and I am confident that they will continue to grow and be one of the best elementary schools in the state. If I had to nitpick I would just say that they need to ramp up their extra-curricular activities (science club, robotics class, etc..), overall "A" school. Close Quote

Open Quote We were very excited to have our son start his Kindergarten year at CTA Goodman. Our excitement soon turned to frustration. Our son (who is normally a really great kid) started behaving poorly. His teacher, the principal and the school counselor all made it very clear how they felt about his behavior and never once offered a solution or made any sort of attempt to help him adjust to his first year in school. They just continued to send him home when he wouldn't sit at his desk. I am disappointed with the lack of compassion for a child who is struggling. I feel that CTA Goodman failed my son. I would not recommend this school to others due to my experiences. Close Quote

Open Quote AMAZING!!! The back to basics approach and Spalding program are what every school should have. They teach one grade level above regular schools, have school uniforms, and a higher standard of conduct. My children are so fortunate to attend- otherwise they would be forced to attend a regular school with a dumbed-down program. My children are expected to meet a higher standard rather than a lower one, and it shows in their performance and self-esteem. The staff at Goodman are amazing- principal, teachers, office staff- all are wonderful. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
