As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote They offer a poor education leaving kids to be behind. They fail at communication. They are all about getting more money from parents with higher cost of lunch, dress down fees, an overpriced student store and fundraisers left and right. Close Quote

Open Quote Not impressed at all with the schools leadership. The good teachers are run off or quit because of the lack of backbone from principal and vice principal.
They do not follow any curriculum. Your kids will be taught what ever the political opinions of each teacher.. no curriculum... your kid is doomed here.. Close Quote

Open Quote a minute ago-Edit
I went to Tucson Country Day for 4 years, while I was there half the teachers didn't seem to care about the students they didn't favor and the other half left. The administration/student counseling area never really looked into issues and always assumed the worst out of students that they didn't know or favor. I also notice that a good chunk of the 5 star reviews where from students who are the admins children or favored by most teachers. The students could get away with just about anything that involved bulling/ harassment, While the teachers who care are great and there are several hidden gems at TCDS and some teachers are top notch, don't send your kids here Close Quote

Open Quote I have had children at TCDS since it opened in 2000. We loved it then and we still love it today. We plan to keep our youngest children there until they graduate from 8th grade.

The teachers are dedicated, caring and kind. The administration is responsive and easy to work with.

My children love the extra classes they get to take - art, technology, physical education, music and Spanish. There are plenty of after school activities, some are sports oriented like basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball and football. Other activities include drama club, choir, karate, garden club, Roots and Shoots, National Junior Honor Society, student council, jump rope...the list goes on.

We love the large, outdoor campus - in addition to their classroom, students have access to a covered activity center, playgrounds, a huge grass field, basketball courts and lots of room to walk around.

I've been involved in the Student Parent Association and have been asked - as many parents have - to volunteer for all kinds of school activities: in class volunteering, field trips, special functions, etc.

It's a great school and we can't say enough about it. Close Quote

Open Quote My children have attended TCDS since it opened in 2000 - three have graduated from 8th grade and moved on to high school, two are still in the elementary school. All have received an exceptional education and have been blessed with great teachers - kind, caring, considerate, etc. There are many teachers who have been at the school since its early years. My oldest son exceeded on all portions of the AIMS exam in 6th-10th grade. He scored a perfect 100 on the 7th and 8th grade AIMS Math assessment. Like his siblings, he certainly received a well-rounded exceptional education and was prepared for the rigorous curriculum at his high school. We have found the administration to be helpful, fair, firm and consistent and have no complaints about them. TCDS is an excellent school. Check it out and see for yourself. Close Quote

Open Quote I have had our son in the preschool/pre-kinder program and is now in the kinder program. I am so impressed with the education that my son is getting. The are very strict within the schools. Several of the teachers have master degrees and are exceptional. The extra-curr. is outstanding with continued growth in new opportunities. They have an outstanding sports program. They school is very open to new opportunities. In a city that is having all of the school districts struggling and severe budget cuts, this school is thriving and producing well rounded kids ready for the challenges of High School and College. Open Quote The school changes faculity members way too often, new prinipals yearly, the current administration does not work with parents in classroom selection. Our child suffered from a stressed out teacher working two jobs and venting on the children. The classroom is ran like a prison Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
