As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote School is more of a cult then a school. If a kid sneezes they will send behavior sheet. Teachers are never wrong, and parents kept in the dark about everything. If the principle doesnt like you, ready to see it taken out on your kids. Uniforms cost a lot, and socks better be the right color and length. Your kid shows a ankle, you'll get a behavioral sheet. RUN far away as fast you can from this school! Close Quote

Open Quote Challenge Charter School is an amazing place to work! Challenge is full of such kindhearted people that are passionate about kids and education. I have never worked for more warm or compassionate people. If you work at Challenge you work for a family and will become an extension of that and the Millers share that same welcoming nature with all the students that come each day. Challenge also has an amazing curriculum every time I learn more about it and the hands on learning I wish I had the privilege of attending this school growing up. GO EAGLES!! Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter has been going to Challenge Charter since kindergarden and the year will be in the third grade. I have nothing but great things to say about everyone from the founders, the principle, the front office staff and most important the great group of nothing but top notch teachers that they have on staff. I had my reservation when my daughter first started do to all the issues I knew other charter schools had do to poor management and the only focus those choose had was personal financial gain. Not here. I mean like most schools now most of the after school activities cost extra. Like I see it if my daughter wants to be involved I have no problem paying the cost. Keep up the quality education and the high standards. Close Quote

Open Quote Our daughter just started her second grade year. This will be her third year at Challenge. The school is just incredible, especially when you consider other schools here in the Phoenix Valley. It's simply amazing.

My biggest complaint are the uniforms. Not that we have to use them, but the fact that we are only allowed to buy ridiculously expensive uniforms and that we're ONLY allowed to buy them from Dennis Uniform. The walmart and target uniforms are literally a quarter the cost. I'm positive the school is getting some sort of kickback for this and it's a big monetary strain on our family.

That aside, the school is still worth it. I am AMAZED at how advanced our daughter is getting with her reading, math and science. I would absolutely recommend this school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
